Burgundy is one of the world's most revered wine regions — a relatively compact strip of hillside vineyards along the Côte d'Or producing some of the greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on earth.

The region's unique system of precisely defined climat parcels, many classified as Premier Cru or Grand Cru, makes it endlessly fascinating to explore with an expert guide who can explain the differences between neighbouring appellations and bring the tasting experience to life.

Our Burgundy wine tours are available in two formats: small group (maximum 8 guests) departing from Dijon, and fully private tours departing from Dijon or Beaune and reserved exclusively for your party.

Both formats include cellar visits, guided tastings, and transport along the Route des Grands Crus. Half-day and full-day options are available.

The two great wine regions of Burgundy's Côte d'Or

  • Côte de Nuits: The northern section of the Côte d'Or, stretching from Dijon south to Nuits-Saint-Georges. Home to Burgundy's most powerful and celebrated red wines — Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Grand Cru vineyards here include Chambertin, Musigny, La Tâche and Romanée-Conti, among the most expensive wines in the world.

  • Côte de Beaune: The southern section, centred on the town of Beaune. Produces Burgundy's greatest white wines — Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet — alongside exceptional reds from Pommard, Volnay and the Corton hillside. Grand Cru whites such as Corton-Charlemagne, Le Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet are among the finest white wines produced anywhere in the world.

Wine tour formats

  • Half-day small group wine tours (from Dijon): Côte de Nuits afternoon or Côte de Beaune afternoon — focused tastings in two cellars with scenic vineyard driving. Ideal for guests with limited time or those combining wine touring with a city day in Dijon.

  • Full-day small group wine tour (from Dijon): A comprehensive day covering both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, visiting three cellars and tasting across a wide range of appellations including Premier and Grand Cru wines.

  • Private wine tours (from Dijon or Beaune): Half-day or full-day, entirely reserved for your group, with flexible routing and the option to focus on specific appellations, producers or wine styles.

  • Grand Cru specialist tours (private): For serious wine collectors and enthusiasts seeking deeper access to prestigious producers and Grand Cru tastings.

What's included on all Burgundy wine tours

  • Expert English-speaking wine guide with deep Burgundy expertise.
  • Cellar visits and guided tastings at 2–3 selected wineries (tasting fees included).

  • Scenic driving along the Route des Grands Crus with stops at iconic vineyard landmarks.

  • Comfortable air-conditioned transport with hotel pick-up in central Dijon or Beaune.

  • Optional gourmet lunch add-on available on full-day tours.

When to visit

Burgundy wine tours run from April to October. Harvest season (mid-September to mid-October) is the most spectacular time to visit, with active picking in the vineyards and a festive atmosphere in the cellars.

Spring and early summer are ideal for a quieter, more intimate experience. The Hospices de Beaune wine auction weekend in November is one of Burgundy's most celebrated annual events and a unique time to visit.
