Learn more about Alsace Private Wine Tours — Exclusive Wine Route, Cellar Visits & Experiences
A private wine tour in Alsace is one of France's finest one-day wine experiences. With your own expert wine guide, you explore the Route des Vins at your own pace — spending as long as you like at the cellar, going deeper into winemaking conversations, and choosing the villages and producers that most interest you.
Private Alsace wine tours are available on request for any date, depart from Strasbourg or Colmar, and are fully tailored to your group's wine knowledge, preferences and interests — whether you are a first-time wine explorer or a seasoned collector.
Tailor your private Alsace wine tour
- By grape variety focus: Build your day around the varieties you love most — a Riesling-focused tour, a Gewurztraminer deep dive, or a comparative tasting across all the key Alsace varieties.
- By producer style: Choose between large, celebrated estates; small artisan family producers; biodynamic or organic growers; or a curated mix.
- By geography: Focus on the Northern Wine Route (around Obernai and Barr), the Central section (Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg) or the Southern route (Eguisheim, Rouffach, Guebwiller).
- With gastronomy: Add a gourmet lunch at a winstub or Michelin-recommended restaurant for a full Alsace food and wine day.
- Grand Cru focus: Concentrate on the 51 classified Grand Cru parcels and the producers who work the finest hillside terroirs.
What's included
- Exclusive private touring — reserved entirely for your group, no other guests.
- Expert wine guide with certified Alsace wine expertise.
- Wine tastings at 2–3 selected producers (tailored to your preferences).
- Premium private vehicle with hotel pick-up and drop-off in Strasbourg or Colmar.
- Flexible timing — depart earlier, extend your day or add extra stops as you wish.
- Optional gourmet lunch reservation, Grand Cru cellar access or harvest-season experiences.
When to visit
Alsace wine tours are rewarding year-round. Spring and early summer bring flowering vines and quiet villages. July and August offer full vineyard scenery and long days.
The harvest season (September to mid-October) is the most exciting time to visit, with active picking and fresh-pressed juice in the cellars. Autumn also brings the beautiful colours of the vines. November and December add the magic of Alsace's world-famous Christmas markets alongside cellar visits.
To plan your private Alsace wine tour, contact our team with your preferred date, departure point (Strasbourg or Colmar), group size, wine interests and any specific producers or villages on your wishlist. We will design a personalised itinerary and provide a clear all-inclusive price.
