When to visit the Loire Valley

Loire Valley packages run year-round. Spring (April–June) is particularly beautiful, with Villandry's formal gardens in full colour and the châteaux at their most photogenic. Summer offers long days and warm evenings ideal for riverside towns.

Harvest (late September–October) is the most exciting time for wine lovers. The Loire Valley is also magnificent in early autumn, when the forest around Chambord turns gold — and the châteaux are quieter than in peak summer.
