Tours is the ideal gateway to the Loire Valley. Served by direct TGV from Paris in under an hour, it places you at the heart of one of France's most celebrated regions — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of Renaissance châteaux, vast hunting forests, vineyard hillsides and charming market towns stretching along the royal Loire River.
Our small group tours from Tours operate with a maximum of 8 guests per departure. All tours meet at the Tours Tourism Office in the city centre, with your expert English-speaking driver-guide handling all logistics, commentary and entrance arrangements throughout the day.
Small group day tours from Tours
- Chambord & Chenonceau full day (small group): The essential Loire Valley day — a full day visiting the two most celebrated châteaux in the region. Morning at Château de Chenonceau, the elegant "Château des Dames" spanning the River Cher, with its Renaissance gardens and richly decorated interiors; afternoon at the immense Château de Chambord, François I's extraordinary hunting lodge, with its famous double-spiral staircase and rooftop terrace views. Entry tickets to both châteaux included.
- Loire Valley wine tour — Bourgueil & Chinon (small group, full day): A full day dedicated to the wines of the Loire Valley, visiting two carefully selected wineries in the Bourgueil and Chinon appellations. Morning tasting in Bourgueil, stop for lunch in the medieval town of Chinon, and afternoon tasting at a family winery in the Chinon wine region. Expert commentary throughout on Loire Valley grape varieties, terroir and winemaking traditions. All tasting fees included.
