Program & Itinerary
Marseille to Cassis Shore Excursion – Calanques Boat Ride & Provence Wines
Unveil the allure of Cassis and the Calanques on a private shore excursion from Marseille Cruise Port. This full-day experience blends dramatic coastal scenery, a charming Mediterranean village, and a Provence wine tasting, all with seamless pickup and drop-off at your ship.
Pick up at your cruise ship in Marseille
As your cruise ship docks in Marseille, your English-speaking driver/guide will be waiting for you at the cruise terminal. After a warm welcome and a quick overview of the day, settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy the drive toward the seaside village of Cassis.
Discover the village of Cassis
On arrival, step into the heart of Cassis, a picturesque fishing village framed by colorful houses, café-lined quays, and a lively harbor. Follow your guide through narrow streets and around the port as you soak up the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, browse small boutiques, or simply take in the views of the boats bobbing in the bay.
Boat ride in the Calanques National Park
The highlight of your day is a panoramic boat ride into the Calanques National Park. Board your boat in Cassis and cruise along a coastline of white limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and hidden coves. For about an hour, admire a succession of spectacular inlets and rocky fjord-like formations as your captain navigates between towering cliffs and sheltered bays.
Free time and lunch in Cassis
After returning to the harbor, enjoy free time for lunch (at own expense) at one of Cassis’s inviting restaurants. Savor fresh seafood, Provençal dishes, or a light meal on a terrace overlooking the water, and take a moment to linger in this postcard-perfect setting.
Provence wine tasting experience
In the afternoon, leave the port behind and head to a local Provence winery. On site, learn about the estate, its vineyards, and the Mediterranean climate that shapes its wines. Then enjoy a guided tasting of a selection of reds, whites, and rosés, discovering the fresh, elegant style that makes Provence wines so popular.
Return to Marseille Cruise Port
As the day comes to an end, relax on the journey back to Marseille. Your driver/guide will return you to your cruise ship in time for boarding, with lasting memories of Cassis, the Calanques, and the flavors of Provence.
