• How long is the drive from Le Havre to Versailles?

  The drive from Le Havre Cruise port to Versailles in normal traffic conditions is 2 hours.

• What type of vehicules are used during a private Shore Excursion from Le Havre?

  Our company uses only premium cars & minivans that are new or recent, comfortable and fully equipped including individual A/C, shaded windows, large leg space.

• What should I expect on a Shore Excursion with Ophorus?

  All our shore excursions in France include pick up and drop off at your ship, once you have exited the Cruise Port terminal. We will always indicate where your driver/guide will be waiting for you. Our itineraries and programs are customized to suit your needs and never include side visits or stops that you had not confirmed. We guarantee your return to ship on time and have a very flexible cancellation policy. All tours can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the tour.
  
  All our shore excursions are for small groups only, we do not cater for groups larger than 20 persons. Typically, we use premium minivans that will take up to 7 or 8 persons maximum. If your group is larger, then we will provide a small minibus but no larger than 20 passenger seats.

• What does the Palace ticket grant admission to?

  The Palace ticket grants admission to all the spaces open for unaccompanied visits in the Palace of Versailles:

  • The Gallery of the History of the Palace
  • The Royal Chapel
  • The King's State Apartments
  • The Hall of Mirrors
  • The Appartement du Roi (the Council Room, the King’s bedchamber etc.)
  • The Gallery of Battles
  • The Mesdames' Apartments.
  • Temporary exhibitions at the Palace.

  The Queen's State Apartments are currently closed to the public due to restoration work.

  
  At the end of your visit you can also see The Gallery of Coaches which is free to enter for all throughout the year.

  You can also go round the gardens which are free to enter every day in Low Season.
  In High Season (from 31 March to 31 October), admission to the gardens is charged on Tuesdays, Fridays, weekends and French national holidays for the Musical Fountain Show and Musical Gardens, which are not included in the Palace ticket.

• Will we experience the Musical Gardens or Fountains Show in Versailles?

  To Experience the Musical Gardens or Musical Fountains show in Versailles, please purchase the corresponding tickets during the booking process. 

• How much time will we have in Versailles?

  Since there is a total of 4 hours driving during the day and that the tour is a 10 hour tour, you will have 6 hours at your disposal in Versailles. The visit of the Palace of Versailles lasts around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This will leave you around 4 hours for personal discovery of the Gardens and the other attractions.

• Is lunch included on this full day shore excursion from Le Havre?

  We never include lunch on our private shore excursions from Le Havre.
  There are different restaurants or snacks in the Versailles complex where you can enjoy lunch.
  
  If you would like us to pre-book a specific restaurant for you and your party just let us know and we will organize this for you at no extra cost. 

• Should I bring something specific for this Shore Excursion?

  Always check the weather before you follow one of our shore excursions. By doing so, adapt your clothing to the local weather conditions. On one of our shore excursions we will not require you to bring your passport but it is always better to have some type of ID just in case. We strongly recommend that you bring with you a photocopy of any ID. Good walking shoes are always recommended in France as you never know on what type of grounds you might be walking.
