Alsace Grands Crus Wine Tour
Introduction to the Experience
This private, full-day wine tour is crafted to give guests the privilege of tasting some of the most outstanding Grands Crus wines Alsace has to offer. The journey includes an introduction to local grape varieties, guided visits with tastings at three specially selected wineries, and a scenic drive through the iconic Alsace vineyards.
Meet Your Expert Guide
In the morning, you’ll be welcomed by your English-speaking guide—an Alsace wine specialist—who will outline the day’s bespoke itinerary. Your group will travel in a comfortable, private minivan reserved exclusively for you, ensuring plenty of space and a relaxed atmosphere.
Departure from Strasbourg & Route des Vins d’Alsace
Your adventure begins as you depart Strasbourg, heading into the picturesque landscapes of the Alsace Wine Route. On the way, you’ll visit renowned wineries known for their exceptional Grands Crus terroirs.
Tasting Grands Crus Varietals
At each stop, enjoy commented tastings of wines such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat, all in their prestigious Grands Crus expressions. Learn how factors like soil type and microclimate shape the character and complexity of these remarkable wines.
Discovering Terroir and Traditions
Throughout the day, discover how different varietals excel in particular Grands Crus. Riesling shines in mineral-rich soils, while Gewurztraminer develops its full aromatic potential in richer, spicier terroirs. Expert winemakers will guide you through their approaches, highlighting sustainable and traditional methods.
Exploring Sustainable Winemaking
Depending on availability, you may visit wineries using organic or biodynamic practices, where respect for the environment and the land is a priority. See firsthand how these producers are helping preserve Alsace’s natural beauty.
Unique Muscat and Late Harvest Wines
In the southern part of the wine route, you’ll have the chance to taste dry, aromatic Muscat and discover rare late-harvest and "Selection de Grains Nobles" wines, celebrated for their depth and aromatic richness.
Return to Strasbourg
After your final tasting, enjoy a scenic drive back to Strasbourg. Reflect on a memorable day filled with outstanding wines, beautiful landscapes, and the rich heritage of Alsace Grands Crus.
