- Discover local wines and cheeses, and encounter passionate local artisans and businesses
- Receive a detailed email recap and personalized resources for continued gourmet adventures
Program & Itinerary
Highlights
- Soak up the ambiance of Toulouse’s most vibrant food hub
- Meet passionate local producers and family businesses
- Learn to navigate a cheese counter at one of the best fromageries in Toulouse
- Sample the amazing duck products & charcuterie that SW France is famous for
- Taste unique grape varieties that are only grown near Toulouse
Some items we'll taste immediately, but others go into our market basket for our final destination: a specially-reserved "tonneau" at a wine seller in the market, where we'll pair our finds with local wines made from obscure grape varieties. We finish on a sweet note with some locally-produced dessert. No need for lunch afterwards!
Along the way, you’ll learn about food and market history, get tips for finding the best products, cultural lessons (French toasting etiquette, anyone?), and context for what you’re tasting. Afterwards, you'll get a detailed email recap, as well as other personalized resources and recommendations so that you can continue your own gourmet adventures!
We'll be eating on our feet, as there is no seating in the market - so wear comfortable clothing and shoes and be prepared to stand/walk the whole time. Please alert us at least 24 hours in advance if you have food allergies or don't drink alcohol.
Includes:
- Ample tastings of pastries, cheese, charcuterie, bread and more - enough to count as lunch!
- At least 2 local wines
- Non-alcoholic drinks available on request
- Local foodie guide
- History of the Victor Hugo Market and the food culture in southwest France
- Recommendations and tips on where to eat and what to do in Toulouse
