A full day Trip from Paris, this Normandy small group private tour will take you to the Normandy coastal battlefield grounds of world war II. On June 6, 1944, the allied troops landed on the Normandy beaches, marking the beginning of a fierce and deadly battle that would culminate in the liberation of France a few months later.

Among the allied troops, the Americans landed on two different beaches of Normandy, later named Omaha and Utah while other allied soldiers landed on Juno Beach, Sword beach and Gold Beach.

Today, our Private tour to Normandy D-Day beaches from Paris is taking you along Normandy d-day landing beaches. Your drive will have you see some essential sites such as Arromanches with its remains of the artificial harbor and Longues sur Mer where a German Battery still stands and that played a strategic role during the landings.

Meet your English speaking local guide, expert in WWII

Today, meet your English speaking guide who is an expert of the Normandy landing beaches and D-Day event and who will go over the itinerary and program of this half day tour with you. Then, board your premium air conditioned vehicle and begin to make your way to the Quercy region of France.

Depart for your Tour of Normandy France from Paris

Then, you will be taken to the Pointe du Hoc site a breathtaking cliff offering lunar landscapes and a magnificent viewpoint over the English Channel. Located between Utah & Omaha beaches, this prominent position along the coast of Normandy, was a focal point of the amphibious assault by U.S. forces during the early morning hours of D-Day, 6 June 1944.

Here, Lt. Col. James E. Rudder, commanding the 2nd Ranger Battalion, received the mission to land at 6:30 a.m., scale the 100 foot cliffs, and disable the German positions. Lt. Col. Max F. Schneider’s 5th Ranger Battalion would follow and reinforce them.

The battle was rough, as the Point du Hoc had been built as a key point of the Atlantic Wall by the Germans – it was the highest point between Utah beach and Omaha beach and provided a great observation spot to notice any unfriendly arrivals from the sea. Follow a guided tour of the site.

Reach Omaha Beach

Then your private tour will reach the coastal battlefield area and d-day landing beach of Omaha beach. Here, listen to your guide as you are taken back in time to hear the tale of one of the boldest and most successful large scale invasions in military history.

Omaha was by far the toughest assignment in Overlord and was the most heavily defended of all the beaches; its bunkers, fighting positions, and obstacles were intended to repel any Allied landing. Your Guide, expert in the battle of Normandy, will retrace for you how it happened and where the fighting took place.

Visit the Normandy American Cemetery

Continue your tour with a stop at the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. Located on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, it was established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 as the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II.

Here you will have some free time to walk around and pay homage but also visit the Visitor Center that provides a fuller array of visitor services to put the D-Day landings in perspective as one of the greatest military achievements in history.

Stop for lunch

Arrive in the small town of Arromanches. This is where you will have some free time to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Don't hesitate to ask your guide for suggestions or recommendations.

Arromanches lookout and Juno Beach

After lunch we'll make a brief stop at the view point in Arromaches, which gives you a great view of the coast and the opportunity to snap a few photographs. The Normandy D-Day landing beaches tour continues along the coast towards Juno beach and the Canadian landing sectors. Here you will see some of the last famous bunkers and some of the old war vehicles.

After your stop at the Juno Beach sector, we will begin to make our way back to Paris and that will be the end of our services.
