Program & Itinerary
Join our half-day Normandy D-Day tour for an unforgettable journey through the historic sites that shaped the outcome of World War II. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, a local expert in D-Day history, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the Allied landings.
Meet your guide at the designated meeting point in Bayeux, where they’ll be holding a sign marked with the tour name and Ophorus logo. After a short introduction, board a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan/minibus and set off through the beautiful Normandy countryside. Our onboard P/A system ensures you’ll enjoy clear, engaging commentary throughout the drive.
Experience the Highlights of Normandy’s D-Day Sites
Pointe du Hoc (or Longues-sur-Mer Battery): Visit (when accessible) the legendary Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Army Rangers scaled towering cliffs under enemy fire on June 6, 1944. Your guide will recount the daring mission and its lasting impact. If the site remains closed for renovations, your visit will include the Longues-sur-Mer Battery, one of the best-preserved German coastal defenses, offering incredible insight into D-Day strategy and panoramic views across the invasion beaches.
Omaha Beach: Continue your journey to Omaha Beach, one of the most iconic D-Day landing zones. Walk along the sands where American soldiers bravely fought to secure a foothold in Nazi-occupied France. Your guide will share vivid stories of the intense battle that unfolded here, capturing the emotion and bravery of that historic day.
Normandy American Cemetery: Conclude your half-day tour at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking Omaha Beach. Spanning 170 acres, this peaceful memorial honors more than 9,000 U.S. servicemen who gave their lives for freedom. Stroll through the meticulously kept grounds, visit the memorial chapel, and reflect on the personal stories that define this solemn site.
Embark on this moving journey through Normandy’s D-Day landscapes and honor the men who changed the course of history. Reserve your seat today for an unforgettable experience merging history, heroism, and remembrance.

Omaha Beach was the largest of the D-DAY assault areas. It stretched over 10 kilometers (6 miles). The area was assigned to the U.S First Army under Lieutenant General Omar Bradley. From the beginning everything went wrong at Omaha. Special tanks sank in choppy waters of the Channel, no unit of the 116th landed were it was planned as strong winds and tidal currents carried the landing crafts from right to left. By the end of the day, the Americans had suffered 2,400 casualties but had landed 34,000 troops. -
