Visit the village of Eze
Perched high above the sea, the medieval village of Eze has retained all its charm through the centuries. From the ruins of its ancient fortress to its winding, narrow streets, the village now attracts many artisans and artists who have set up their workshops in former barns and sheepfolds, contributing to the peaceful local atmosphere. Celebrated for its tranquility and views, Eze also inspired writers such as Nietzsche, who is said to have worked on “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” here.
Stroll through the village at your own pace, enjoy the viewpoints over the Mediterranean, and then discover the famous Fragonard perfume factory located just below the village.
Visit Fragonard Perfume Factory
The renowned perfume house Fragonard was established in 1926 by Eugène Fuchs, who chose the name in homage to the 18th-century French painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard and the perfume-making town of Grasse. During your guided visit of the factory, learn about the manufacturing secrets behind perfumes, soaps, and cosmetics created from high-quality raw materials, using a blend of traditional know-how and modern techniques.
Visit Monaco and Monte Carlo
After the perfume experience, continue your excursion toward Monaco. Walk through the narrow streets of the Old Town, where your tour can include seeing the changing of the guards in front of the Prince’s Palace around midday. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Neo-Romanesque Cathedral and see the memorial dedicated to Princess Grace and Prince Rainier.
End your tour in Monte Carlo, where you will discover the famous Old Casino on Casino Square, the Hôtel de Paris and Café de Paris, and the surrounding gardens and luxury boutiques. Depending on traffic and timing, you may also have the chance to drive along part of the world-famous Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit before returning to Monaco Cruise Port and your ship.
