Who conducts these Sarlat Gourmet Food tours?
Our Sarlat tours are conducted by one of our in-house licensed guides. They know perfectly the town of Sarlat and will answer any question that you might have - History, Culture & lifestyle. This morning, follow them through the Market on a food tour to taste some of the local produce. -
How strenuous is this tour?
This tour includes some walking around the medieval town of Sarlat, where you have still a large number of cobblestone streets. The tour lasts 2 hours and there are not many places to have a seat. -
How many specialities will I taste during this tour?
Depending on your guide, you will taste a number of specialties. Usually, we include tastings of local produce such as bread, cheese, ham or cured meat, foie gras, walnut based products and wine. Some guides have more affinities with local producers that bring their own produce so it might be that you will stop in different stalls. -
Can I buy some of the produce that we taste?
Yes, of course you can buy directly from the producers or shops where the tastings take place. After the tour, you will aslo have time to stroll and sample from other producers. One important thing to know is that you will need to have some cash with you as not many producers accept credit cards.
