Discover the Elegance of Medoc: A Full-Day Wine Journey from Bordeaux
Join us for a remarkable small-group tour in the heart of Bordeaux's Medoc region, designed for wine enthusiasts seeking to delve into the intricacies of French winemaking..
Our expertly crafted full-day trip from Bordeaux offers an intimate exploration of Medoc's vineyards, prestigious Chateau Wineries, and a scenic drive along the famous Castle Road.
Central Meeting Point in Bordeaux
Your adventure begins at a central and accessible location - the Bordeaux Tourism Office at 12 Cours du 30 Juillet, 33000 Bordeaux. This prime spot is easily reachable, a mere 10-minute stroll from most central city hotels.
If you're staying on the outskirts of the historical center, like near the train station or specific hotels, the Quinconces tram station, right next to the Tourism Office, offers a convenient link.
Timely Departure for an Exclusive Experience
We place great emphasis on punctuality to ensure a seamless and enriching tour. As we pre-book our winery visits to offer you an exclusive experience, please arrive at our meeting point 10 minutes before the departure time.
Our precise scheduling is key to ensuring you get the most out of the highly sought-after Bordeaux wineries, which require advance booking.
Should you foresee any delay, inform us immediately. We can wait up to 10 minutes, but any later may result in your reservation being marked as a no-show, without a refund.
Welcoming and Expert Guide
Upon reaching the meeting point, you'll be greeted by our friendly, English-speaking guide, easily recognizable by their Ophorus sign and badge.
They will provide an overview of your day's itinerary. Settle into our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, complete a P/A system, ensuring a smooth and connected journey.
Morning: Scenic Drive and First Winery Visit
Your tour begins with a picturesque drive along Castle Road, passing iconic wineries like Chateau Palmer and Chateau Margaux. You'll explore different appellations, such as Margaux and Pauillac, while absorbing the stunning vineyard vistas.
At your first winery stop, delve into the estate's history and explore the winemaking process from vine to bottle. The guided tour culminates in a sophisticated wine tasting session, where the subtle nuances of Medoc wines are unveiled.
You're welcome to purchase wines directly from the winery, adding distinguished selections to your collection.
Lunch in Pauillac (at own expense)
The charming town of Pauillac awaits for a leisurely lunch break (not included in the tour price). We suggest a light meal to optimize your tour experience, considering the timing of the afternoon winery visits.
Afternoon: Two Diverse Winery Tours
Post-lunch, immerse yourself in the Medoc wine experience with visits to two distinct wineries, each representing a unique facet of the region's terroir.
Learn about the historical significance of wine trading in Bordeaux and the pivotal role of the 300 trading houses in shaping the industry.
The tour offers not just tastings but insights into the traditions and innovations that make Medoc wines truly exceptional.
Return to Bordeaux
Concluding your explorations, we'll journey back to Bordeaux, offering you time to ponder over the day's rich experiences.
As we arrive back in the city, our tour concludes, leaving you with memories of a delightful day spent among the vineyards of Medoc.
Book your Medoc wine tour now for an unforgettable experience in Bordeaux's prestigious wine region, where history, culture, and the art of winemaking converge in a symphony of flavors and landscapes.
*Depending on availability, there can be 2 winery tours in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Lunch break will always be in Pauillac.
