In the afternoon, depart for a half day tour along the Alsace wine route to discover some of the most fascinating wines of France. Renowned for its aromatic white wines, the region is ideally suited with a dry and sunny climate, complex geology, favorable soils and excellent exposure. During this half day tour, you will wine taste in 2 wineries so as to find out all there is to know about the 7 different types of Alsace wines.
First, depart for the lovely town of Obernai located on the ‘Wine Route’. Here you will most certainly appreciate its little winding streets, old houses with multicolored tiles, ensigns, ramparts and the statue of St Odile patron saint of Alsace. After a guided walking tour of the town enjoy your first wine tasting session in one of our selected wineries. Your tour will then continue along the breathtaking Alsace wine route to admire the stunning landscape. On your way, enjoy a second wine tasting session in a typical Alsace ‘caveau’.

Day > 2 Pearls Of Alsace

Pearls of Alsace tour combines what we believe are the most essential visits that one must make while in the region. It includes the visits of towns, monuments, small traditional villages and historical landmarks. Pick up in Strasbourg and depart for the beautiful town of Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, its prestigious monuments, the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, Saint Martin collegiate church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of small Venice or of the tanners.
Then depart for the most beautiful village of Eguisheim. Surrounded by vineyards, the narrow and concentric streets highlight the architectural merits of its half-timbered houses, lovingly decorated with flowers. After a walk in the village, your tour then continues on to the beautiful town of Riquewihr. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has been very fortunate to survive war and destruction. Its tiny streets, fortified walls and old houses have preserved their 16C splendor virtually intact, making for remarkable architectural harmony. Free time for personal discovery and lunch.
After lunch you will follow the breathtaking Alsace ‘Wine Route’. Located between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across the slopes for more than 170 kms. The itinerary leads across rows of undulating, vine covered hills, and through quaint villages with narrow streets and charming flower decked houses clustered around the local church steeple. Finally, reach Haut Koenigsbourg castle. Here, follow your guide for a tour of this mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built in 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the North and the salt route that came from the East. After the visit return to Strasbourg.

Day 3 > Discover Baden-Baden & Savor The Famous Black Forest Cake

Depart for the spa town of Baden Baden nestled at the foot of the black forest. The city has attracted royalty, the rich and celebrities over the centuries. Crossed by the magnificent Lichtentaler Allee park with its 3km tree-lined avenue, the city is also home to a number of architectural splendors. Upon arrival, follow your guide on a pleasant walking tour through town. Discover the alabaster-white Kurhaus, a Baden-Baden landmark and one of the world’s most beautiful casinos, the Festspielhaus – Europe’s second largest opera house and concert hall – that provides a splendid venue for the festival held in honour of Herbert von Karajan. Admire the impressive frontage of the Trinkhalle, Baden-Baden’s Pump Room, with its Corinthian pillars and striking murals. Ever since Roman times, people have stood on this spot and enthused over Baden-Baden and the healing powers of its water. After your stroll, time has come to take part in one of the sweetest of German traditions: Kaffee und Kuchen – Coffee and Cake. The “official” kaffee und kuchen time is 4:00 p.m., when Germans might pause to enjoy some treats, gossip, catch up or spend a leisurely afternoon moment with friends, family or guests. Baden Baden is the perfect setting to enjoy this treat and we will take you to one of the most famous Cafés of the town to taste the most famous cake of the area accompanied by a hot drink of your choice: Black Forest Cherry Cake! Typically, Black Forest cake consists of several layers of chocolate sponge cake sandwiched with whipped cream and cherries. It is decorated with additional whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and chocolate shavings. One of the most important ingredients is Kirschwasser, a clear spirit made from cherries, and that is added to the cake.
