Meet your English speaking local guide, expert in Bordeaux Wines

In the morning, we will come and pick you up at your Hotel or Accommodation in Bordeaux. Meet your English speaking driver / guide who is an expert on Bordeaux Wines. Once you have met your guide, he/she will go over the program and itinerary of the day with you. Then, board your comfortable, air conditioned vehicle and begin to make your way to the Saint Emilion wine producing region. 

Travel in a Premium Vehicle

Your private Bordeaux Day Trip to Saint Emilion will take place in one of our very spacious Mercedes Minivans. This vehicle can take up to 7 persons. All our vehicles are equipped with an on board P/A system that allows you to hear the commentary of your driver/guide no matter where you are seated. Also, there is free Wi-Fi access in all vehicles. Bottled water is also available in all our vehicles.

Participate in a Wine Blending Workshop 

After a guided tour of the wine estate, dive in the daily life of the winemaker with a fun workshop to create your own cuvée. Sample directly from the barrel your wine and blend different grape varieties to collect the fruits of your labor with a customized bottle for each creator. This workshop is perfect to understand why Bordeaux wines are blended wines and the difference it makes when one combines different grape varieties together to obtain a final wine. In Bordeaux, and more specifically in Saint Emilion, the main grape varieties used in the blend include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and the king of the right bank, Merlot! 

Picnic  Lunch in a Saint Emilion Château

After your morning workshop, move on with your English-speaking driver tour guide to another winery where you will enjoy a visit of the winery followed by a picnic lunch in a great setting. Typically your lunch will be composed of summer basket with a bask tapenade, duck confit, summer vegetables, and local desserts (cannelés and macarons of St-Emilion). Your lunch will also include a glass of wine of the property. 

Afternoon Blind tasting session in a Saint Emilion Grand Cru Chateau

 After lunch, reach another Grand Cru Château of the Saint Emilion appellation and participate in a blind tasting workshop. After a visit of the winery, you will be introduced to the art of blind tasting. Here, no labels or information on the bottles to influence your taste. In a private cellar, awaken all your senses and taste three different wines of the estate. Your eyes, nose and taste buds will be your only allies to help you define if the wines are to your appreciation or not. Once you have tasted all three wines, the exact vintage and blend of the wines will be revealed.

After your workshop, it will be time to head back to Bordeaux.
