Program & Itinerary
Meet your English speaking guide, expert in Champagne Wines
Today, meet your English speaking guide who is an expert in Champagne Wines. Once you have met your guide, he/she will go over the program and itinerary of your champagne tasting tour with you.
Visit & tasting at a Champagne Winery
After a short drive, arrive at the first winery where we will stop for our first visit. Here, the visit of the winery includes an explanation of the different steps that are needed to create a Champagne. After a tour of the technical installations and the visit of the cellar, it will be time to participate in your first tasting. Through a commented tasting, you will be introduced to 3 different types of Champagne made by an Independant producer.
Stop at Hautvillers village
Drive through to the Marne Valley and its vineyard to meet with a prestigious figure: Dom Perignon who finalized the process to elaborate Champagne. He highly contributed to the fame of Champagne and is now buried in the church of the former Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers. After the stop, we continue our Champagne half day tour with a stop in the vineyards for great photo opportunities and to speak about the vines and growth system.
Champagne tasting at a second Winery
After the stop in the vineyard, our half day trip continues with the visit of a second family owned Champagne winery. Located in the Premier Cru area of Champagne, your commented tasting will again include 3 diufferent types of Champagnes so that this half day is quite complete when it comes to the variety and numbers of Champagne tasted. This is the best time to ask all the questions relating to Champagne as you are in the hands of a professional Independent Producer that masters all the different techniques of Champagne wine making.
After your second tasting session, it will be time to make our way back to Reims. Drop off in Reims and end of our services.
