Season 2 : Between the 19th of July until 2nd of August - Luberon and Sault Lavender fields

SEASON 1:

Discover the great lavender fields of the Valensole area before you reach the hilltop village of Moustiers Sainte Marie and the Verdon Canyon.

Lavender fields of the Valensole Plateau

Begin your full day tour and depart for the Plateau of Valensole and its river of lavender fields. Stop among lavender and sunflower fields. Free time in the lavender fields. Stop at a lavender farm for lavender and lavandin products. Stop in a charming small provencal market to taste local specialties.

This is the time of the year when Provence puts on her purple and golden dress. June and July are the months of blooming lavender and sunflowers fields. Lavandin and wild lavender grow in an altitude of between 500 and 1700m, in the sun and on dry soil. It is a delight for your senses. Lavender is a treasure for the eyes, the nose and the palate.

You can stroll among lavender plants, spot butterflies and bees working on the flowers, taste a lavender ice cream and buy lavender products. We highly recommend, however, that you wear long shirts and pants as bees are also greatly attracted by the Lavender flowers!

Valensole is a particularly popular destination for its large fields of lavender alternating with waves of shining sunflowers. Simply stunning. The best time to come to Provence for photos op is late June to mid-July.

Visit Moustiers Sainte Marie

Continue your drive through lavender fields to reach the hilltop medieval village of Moustiers Sainte Marie, known for its ceramic’s work. Free time at leisure for lunch.

Gorges du Verdon

The Verdon is rightly considered to be the most beautiful canyon in Europe. Surveyed by visitors from all over the world, the Verdon became a protected natural site in 1990. It also benefits from the label "Grand Site de France". What could be more normal for such a jewel?

The Verdon is also a region of villages such as Valensole, Riez, the very high perched Aiguines, the picturesque Bauduen, Castellane and its rock, Moustiers Sainte Mari, typical places and unforgettable landscapes.

It is in summary an exceptional site that we invite you to discover through a large collection of photos and other media that you will admire on this site, also with a maximum of access information. Drive to the lac of Sainte Croix du Verdon and enjoy several photo stops on the way to enjoy panoramic views on the Verdon Canyon and lake.

End the tour at the Occitane Museum

The last visit takes place in the famous Occitane museum to learn everything about essential oils and natural cosmetics and that will remain a highlight as you visit Provence.

SEASON 2:

With our tour guide enjoy a full day lavender tour to Sault and the Luberon from Aix en Provence. Discover the Luberon and the most beautiful villages in France. Drive along the lavender road and admire typical provençal landscapes and lavender fields before you reach Sault, capital of lavender and its huge lavender fields.

Visit Lourmarin village

The first visit takes place in the village of Lourmarin, charming provençal village, source of inspiration of Peter Mayle for “A year in Provence”. The village with its famous Renaissance castle is set in the midst of olive and almond groves.

As you enter Lourmarin, your muscles ease and your mind starts wandering. The plane trees make an arch over the avenue as you walk to the heart of the village. Shaded streets and fountains are welcome when the heat reaches its peak during summer time. Life is peaceful in the narrow Provençal streets. People take the time to live, to talk and to relax.

Nested in vineyards and olive trees fields, Lourmarin is named one of the most beautiful villages in France, and is certainly a must see during your visit in the Luberon area. It is a village of artists. As you stroll in the tiny paved streets, among ancient houses, you will notice the many artists’ boutiques.

Lourmarin is a haven for painters, sculptors, fashion designers and writers. No wonder it attracted novelist Henri Bosco and Nobel prize writer and philosopher Albert Camus.

Visit Roussillon village

Your next stop will be Roussillon, a village perched atop an ochre rock formation called the “Provencal Colorado” and classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France. You have free time to explore the village and the Ochre path during a 30mn walk and to enjoy lunch in the village.

Stroll through the Lavender fields

In the afternoon drive along the lavender road and admire typical provençal landscapes and lavender fields before reaching Sault, capital of lavender and its huge lavender fields. Free time at leisure in the fields and the village. On the way back you will enjoy many photo stops in lavender and sunflower fields (during blossom season).

Our other options include excellent tours and shore excursions from Marseille, that include visits to the Pont du Gard, Les Baux de Provence, Wine tours to Chateauneuf du Pape, Saint Rémy de Provence.
