We also organise private transfers to all the main destinations in or around the cities of Lille including all Lille hotels or Airbnb accommodations. During the drive, enjoy stops on the way that have been carefully selected so that you may enjoy this Paris to Lille transfer as if it was a sightseeing tour.
FIRST STOP IN AMIENS TO VISIT A MOST IMPRESSIVE CATHEDRAL
After a 2 hour driving time, reach the town of Amiens. Capital of the Picardie region, the town is home to the largest Gothic Cathedral of France, twice the size of Notre Dame in Paris and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounding the Cathedral, the narrow paved streets give the town a very medieval feel to it. The Cathedral is a perfect example of Gothic architecture at its best. Miraculously spared during the two world wars, the stalls as well as the interior decoration are exceptional. Also, more than 4 000 sculpted statues represent religious and daily life.
Upon arrival in Amiens, follow your guide on a guided visit of the Cathedral and then enjoy some free time for personal discovery and lunch (at your own expense)
THEN STOP IN THE TOWN OF ARRAS
On the way to Lille, reach the town of Arras. Capital of the Artois region, this discreet town hides a most stunning theatrical decor. La Grand Place and La Place des Héros are both precious heritages of Flemish Baroque architecture. As you visit the town, your guide will certainly point out one of the oldest houses that dates back to the 15th century. Other sites of interest include the Town Hall, the Cathedral, and the Wellington quarry, a tunnel dug by New Zealand military during the first world war.
OR STOP AT VIMY RIDGE TO HONOR CANADIAN SOLDIERS
Many historians and writers consider the Canadian victory at Vimy a defining moment for Canada, when the country emerged from under the shadow of Britain and felt capable of greatness. Canadian troops also earned a reputation as formidable, effective troops because of the stunning success. But it was a victory at a terrible cost, with more than 10,000 killed and wounded.
The Canadian Corps was ordered to seize Vimy Ridge in April 1917. Situated in northern France, the heavily-fortified seven-kilometre ridge held a commanding view over the Allied lines. The Canadians would be assaulting over an open graveyard since previous French attacks had failed with over 100,000 casualties.
If you do choose to stop at Vimy ridge, your guide will take you to the Vimy memorial that overlooks the Douai Plain from the highest point of Vimy Ridge. Located north of Arras in France, the Vimy Memorial is Canada’s largest overseas National Memorial. It commemorates more than 11,000 men of the Canadian Expeditionary Force killed during the First World War in France and who have no known grave. Many of them died in the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

After the visit of Arras or Vimy ridge, it will be time to head to Lille. Upon arrival in Lille we will drop you off at your hotel or accommodation and that will be the end of our services.
