This private tour in the south of France is a perfect introduction to this region for those of you who have only but a short time in the area.
St Paul de Vence is one of the numerous perched villages that are located in the Provence hinterland mountain range. From its origin as a military stronghold it has kept its ramparts, guard’s way, canons and other such features. The village is also very famous because of the large number of celebrities, painters or film producers who have come to appreciate the local light, the calm, the sea and peacefulness of the area. Picasso, Matisse, Chagall or Renoir are just but a few of those that have come to take advantage of this small paradise on earth to devote some time for their art work. Here, you will have time to explore this unique village and stroll through the narrow and picturesque streets from the Royale Gate to the Southern Gate to discover magnificent stone facades from the 16th and 17th centuries. Other highlights of the village include the Folon chapel, the Fondation Maeght and amazing restaurants like La Colombe d'Or.
Arrive in Nice, jewel of the Côte d’Azur. Marvel at the beauty of the Promenade des Anglais. Explore the old town with its world famous flower market. The town is also home to the Marc Chagall national museum. Other highlights of the city include 16th century houses, as well as numerous 19th century architecture that correspond to the city's popularity as a tourist destination.
Hanging over the Sea, the Medieval village of Eze has retained all its charms throughout the centuries. From the ruins of its medieval fortress to its charming, narrow streets, the small village now attracts a multitude of artisans and artists. Established in what used to be barns or sheepfolds, they definitely contribute to the local ambiance of this peaceful area. Celebrated for the calm that can be found here, numerous writers have also decided to settle down here, one of the most famous being Nietzsche who it is said to have written Thus Spoke Zarathustra in Eze. Enjoy some free time for personal discovery.
We also organize fun & informative shore excursions from Nice & Villefranche sur Mer to other major sites of the region including Monaco, Monte Carlo, Cannes and its film festival palace, hilltop villages and medieval village of Eze, Saint Tropez, Cap Ferrat or Grass, world capital of perfumes.
