Arrival in the exceptional village of Les Baux de Provence. From the Middle Ages, the village has kept the narrow streets, the imposing ruins of a castle and the memory of the proud lords and troubadours. From the rocky spur, it's a breathtaking view on an exceptional scenery that amazes all the visitors. Discover the Pont du Gard, a fascinating Unesco World Heritage site, today the best preserved part of the aqueduct of Nîmes (which is almost 50 km long). The Roman architects and hydraulic engineers who designed this bridge, which stands almost 50 m high and is on three levels – the longest measuring 275 m – created a technical as well as an artistic masterpiece. Continue to Avignon, the city of the Popes in the 14th century : the medieval walls, the Pont d’Avignon on the Rhone river and the Popes’ Palace, the biggest gothic palace in all Europe (entrance fees not included). The day continues with Châteauneuf-du-Pape, surrounded by the very famous vineyards. Wine-tasting included in one of the numerous wineries.
