Our next stop is Limeuil famous as it is the location where the movie “Chocolat” was filmed. End the day with the visit of the Castle and Gardens of Marqueyssac: listed as a National Historical Monument it offers more than 6 kilometres of shaded paths, edged with 150 000 hand-pruned hundred year old boxwoods.

Today head for some of the most beautiful villages of the Périgord region. Start with the visit of Collonges la Rouge. The name originates from the use of red sandstone for construction giving the village its amazing appeal. After the visit, off to the village of Turenne that boasts old town houses dating from the 15th to 17th century adorned with turrets or bartizans. Finally, end the tour with the visit of St Amand de Coly. Its 12th century abbey is considered as the most beautiful fortified church of Périgord.

This excursion is dedicated to all those who appreciate wine. In the morning depart for the Bergerac vineyard. Visit and wine tasting at the Bergerac wine house. Then off to Monbazillac, famous for its sweet white wines for a visit and wine tasting session. Enjoy some free time for personal discovery and lunch in the historical part of Bergerac. In the afternoon, visit and wine tasting in a winery of the Bergerac appellation.

Set off on an excursion to the Padirac abyss, a natural, 75 metre chasm that shows on the limestone plateau of the "Causse de Gramat" in the Lot, below which, at 103 metres underground flows a river. Visit and boat ride in the Abyss. Then off to the pilgrimage and fortress town of Rocamadour. Visit the renowned Notre Dame Chapel, part of an extraordinary 13th-century chapel complex perched on a cliff and one of the most dramatic pilgrimage sites in Europe. Finally stop at the Gardens of Eyrignac Manor, which are among the most famous and beautiful in France.

The Quercy region is on your program for today. We first head towards the fascinating cave of Perch Merle that still bears some authentic cave paintings of the Magdalenian era. From there we depart for the wonderful village of St Cirq Lapopie, known to be the most beautiful of all the beautiful villages of France. Finally, we will stop in Cahors to admire the only remaining medieval fortified bridge of Europe.

Depart for La Roque St Christophe, a pre-historic troglodyte site dating from the Mousterian era. The whole site is half a mile long and rises in five galleries dug out from the rock. The fascinating remains of some of the buildings can be seen – like the Church, as well as some medieval weaponry. Visit of the site and on to the Reignac Manor. Listed a historical monument, this is the strangest, most secret, most extraordinary, and also the most mysterious of all the Périgord châteaux. Built under the escarpments, this refuge juts out from the rock into which it has been dug and conceals huge rock shelters that have witnessed some interesting events of our civilization for more than 20.000 years.
