The mighty cathedral, a unique example of southern gothic architecture, built after the Albigeois crusade is a must see for its preserved Renaissance paintings and Last Judgment. The walking tour will also make you explore the old town’s winding medieval streets and private mansions. The town also houses the largest collection of paintings by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec (optional).

Carcassonne UNESCO

Cathar Castle of Montségur and Foix
Duration :8 hours

Depart for a journey in the heart of Cathar country. First stop in Foix to discover the old town and its castle (optional). Have some free time for lunch, before continuing to bewildering Montségur. The castle symbolizes the resistance of the Cathar heresy that occurred in the 13th century. Finally overtaken in 1244, more than 200 Cathars were burnt here at the end of the siege. Hike up the “Pog” (good physical condition and walking shoes necessary) to visit the ruins of the castle. After your hike visit the archaeological museum of Montségur and discover how people lived in those days.

Lourdes sanctuary
Duration :8 hours
Depart from your hotel and drive to Lourdes. Reach Lourdes and start by the visit of the sanctuaries. Here you will not only see the grotto but also visit the three church's that were built on site, one on top of the other. After some free time for lunch, follow your guide as he takes you on the footsteps of Bernadette. First discover the family house where the father ran a mill and then on to the “Cachot”, a tiny cell in which the family lived during harder times. Free time in the sanctuary for personal discovery and drive back to Toulouse.

Pearls of the Lot
Duration :4 1/2 hours
This tour is dedicated to small villages classified as "Most beautiful of France". Start with Carrenac where Renaissance houses with sculpted windows and brown roofs are clustered around a Cluniac priory. Then reach Loubressac. Perched on a promontory the village invites visitors to discover its charming medieval houses built of ochre stone and capped with pointed roofs. Finally, end with the visit of outstanding Bretenoux castle the residence of a rich baronial family until 1715. Its towers, thick walls and domestic quarters illustrate its architectural development over the centuries.

Medoc 1/2 day wine tour
