On this three day Bordeaux wine tour based in the recently declared UNESCO city of Bordeaux your own personal driver/guide will make you discover the best of the Bordeaux vineyards.

Pick up will be at centrally located 1-3 Allée de Tourny Airport shuttle bus stop and you will depart towards all the main Bordeaux wine regions that are famous worldwide. From the famous Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc to the more intimate garage wines that produce only 3000 bottles a year , our Bordeaux wine tours are designed to bring you where wine tasting has become an art.

Our Bordeaux wine tour has been carefully designed so that wine enthusiasts or everyday wine lovers alike will be able to comprehend the different techniques involved in wine making, understand the relationship between the wine grower and his/her vineyard and mostly get the feel and authenticity in a region where traditions and values are as deeply rooted as the vineyard itself.

Certainly one of the main features of the tour will be the visit of some of the most famous Classified growth chateau's of the different appellations: Médoc, Graves and Sauternes, St Emilion all these wine regions will be on your program. Santé!!!

Itinerary:

Day 1 BORDEAUX UNESCO / SAINT EMILION VISIT AND WINE TOUR

Newly declared UNESCO world Heritage site, the historical city centre of Bordeaux has much to offer: The Grand Theatre, the Tourny alleys, Quinconces square, Saint Andrews Cathedral, the Town Hall and much more. This morning enjoy a panoramic tour of the city to admire the most renowned monuments as well as some hidden gems. In the afternoon head towards charming Saint Emilion not only known for its wine but also for the beauty of the village itself. Enjoy a wine tasting session in a Chateau and then visit of the village. Finally, free time for personal discovery.

Day 2 MEDOC FULL DAY WINE TOUR

Come and admire the lowlands of the Médoc (meaning the ‘middle land’ for it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the West and the Gironde estuary to the East), which shares much resemblance with the Dutch polders. In this unique geological set-up, where one finds a predominant graves soil (a blend of sand and gravel), a particular knowledge has been passed on from one generation to the next, in order to produce the most famous red wines in the world. Along the châteaux route, you will come across such pearls as Château Margaux or Mouton Rothschild. Visit and wine tasting in famous vineyards and return to Bordeaux.

Day 3 GRAVES AND SAUTERNES FULL DAY WINE TOUR

Graves is the only Bordeaux sub region which is famed for all three of Bordeaux's three main wine types - reds, dry whites and sweet wines - although red wines dominate the total production. In the morning visit and wine taste in one of the most famous classified growth chateau of the Graves appellation. Then depart for the charming region of Sauternes. Sauternes is made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by Botrytis cinerea, also known as noble rot. This causes the grapes to become partially raisined, resulting in concentrated and distinctively flavoured wines. Enjoy a visit and a wine tasting session in a prestigious classified growth of the appellation to know all about this legendary wine.
